My Journey Thus Far

Growing up I played a lot of sports: soccer, softball, flag football, jiu jitsu, and basketball. I started playing basketball in a church league when I was 7, I loved the game immediately. I started paying NJB a few years later, I was learning more every year and wanted to gain more skill. I started looking for an AAU team when I was 10; although I was still new to the game I learned a lot from the higher level of play. Eventually I found the team that was right for me, in 6th grade I started playing for the San Jose Cagers and since then I have continued learning more than ever with the team.

My Family

I have a very loving and supportive family. My mom played Division I soccer at Fresno State, she always has encouraged me to compete and put forth my best effort at all times. My dad has taught me that I am capable of anything but I have to work hard to achieve it. Me and my younger brother have always been close. He and I always compete but at the end of the day we both only make each other better people.

Extracurriculars

Outside of basketball I participate in field hockey for school. Before high school I had never played the sport before, however, I quickly picked up the skills and enjoyment for the game. In my sophomore year of field hockey we won our league and made it to the semi finals for CCS. I also won sophomore of the year in the B.V.A.L. Furthermore, I participate in Link Crew for my school. Link Crew is a program where juniors and seniors volunteer to tour the incoming freshman. I enjoy being a part of this program because it is important to make them feel welcome when entering high school. When I was an incoming freshman the link crew leaders I had made me feel excited to enter high school, I hope to give the same feeling to the people I tour. I work very hard to maintain an A average, take AP & Honors courses.

My Future Goals

In the future I would like to play basketball in college and major in business. In my extended family there are not many people that have attended college, that motivates me to succeed in college to make them proud. Outside of basketball I would enjoy working or owning a business that sold shoes and streetwear clothing. I find writing and marketing very interesting and I would love to pursue a career that involves that. In college I want to learn the skills to be able to manage my own business. I believe owning a business and having the opportunity to shape the company in a way I want is ideal for me in the future.
